Architectural Consercation
Project 1 : Mini Seminar
The first project of this module requires us to separate into groups and conduct a ‘mini seminar’ that will discuss on issues in relation to architectural conservation. This project will require us to conduct research and getting information on the current issue on the subject matter. This exercise is a platform for us to express or critique on any issue regarding architectural conservation in Malaysia. On top of that, this task will be able to give more knowledge to the us and raise our awareness on architectural conservation mainly in Malaysia. A case study is to be included as an example to showcase the current conditions and the conservation efforts done to preserve the building. Our group's case study would be the KL City Theatre.
Project 2 : PROPOSAL FOR ADAPTIVE RE-USE
This project requires us to propose potential new usage for a building of our choice in order to promote building conservation. To do this, we are to investigate and observe practices and approaches on architecture conservation in Malaysia. Carrying over the groups for the previous project, we are to organize trips to several sites in order to explore, comprehend and form opinion which subsequently captured in a proposal statement and illustrated diagrams, to get an idea on how to begin. The building that our group has chosen is the Gedung Raja Abdullah.
